After Schools ProgrammeThe Riversdale After Schools Programme is operated by the Blanchardstown Youth Service in conjunction with Riversdale Community College. The programme aims to develop the practical, personal and social skills of participants in order to ensure that they get the best possible experience of school life. Young people are actively encouraged to participate in their own learning by planning and evaluating their own programmes which are strongly needs based. The clubs, which generally run on Wednesday afternoons, cater for young people aged 12 to 16 from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year. Last year's activities included;- crafts, cookery, outdoor pursuits and video making. Participant involvement continues over the school holidays in the form of intensive one week programmes of recreational/educational activities and trips away.
