RAPID

Blanchardstown Area Partnership has been involved in introducing RAPID to Blanchardstown. Partnership is now actively involved in the development of the RAPID plan.

RAPID is a new government programme that targets specific neighbourhoods, aiming to improve facilities, like health centres and community centres, and services, like policing and childcare. The programme is designed to make these improvements happen as quickly as possible.

In Blanchardstown, the RAPID programme covers local areas including Fortlawn, Whitechapel, Sheepmoor, Whitestown, Corduff, Sheephill and Mulhuddart.

The programme can focus on issues such as:-

• Play facilities
• Drug misuse
• Childcare
• Policing
• Youth facilities
• Education and training

The decision on what are the most important issues will be made locally. There will be places for residents on area implementation teams and there will be places for community groups on task groups.
